Indocyanine Green Angiography

Our Staff Performing Indocyanine Green Angiography

Indocyanine Green Angiography

Indocyanine Green angiography (ICG) is a test similar to a fluorescein angiography. This dye, after injected, circulates in the blood stream and makes its way to the blood vessels underneath the retina. We use a special camera to take pictures of the dye as it flows through these blood vessels. As this camera is hooked-up to a digital system, we can give you instant results of the test. In certain cases of Macular Degeneration, we utilize this test to help determine how best to treat the patient. Contraindications may include liver disease, allergies to iodine, or allergies to shellfish.
